It is not just sitting on the bottom and hoping weight is enough. The flukes give it actual bite. This 20 lb anchor is sized for boats up to 24 feet including center consoles, deck boats, pontoons, and bass boats. Use a 5 to 1 line to depth ratio for best hold. In 10 feet of water you want at least 50 feet of line out. The smooth shank drops into standard bow rollers and anchor guides for clean deployment and retrieval. The entire anchor is vinyl coated over heavy duty cast iron. Bare metal anchors gouge gelcoat and scratch fiberglass every time you haul them over the gunwale or set them on deck. The vinyl coating protects every surface on your boat from contact damage and seals the iron underneath against rust and corrosion. Easy to rinse clean after use.
