Insider Secrets - Direct Mail Marketing for Magicians

You can make an incredible living performing magic shows (and other creative arts)! I started performing magic professionally when I was 12 years old. I had been putting shows together at home, and always sharing a few effects at school with my classmates. Some friends asked me to perform at their Halloween party. Then I was invited to bring a show to a church. A lady at the church invited me to the residential facility she worked at. Then that was it. No more invites. Shows were not going to simply come to me. Then my parents said, “Let’s do a mailing.” We sat down with the phone book and created a data base of every local business, residential care facility, day care, school, and church. I typed out a simple letter introducing myself, explaining that I was a kid doing magic shows, and that I would appreciate an opportunity to come and share at any type of event that may need some entertainment. It worked! Now 24 years later, I have sent every type of poster, postcard, brochure, letter, and business card that you can imagine. Some have worked very well. Some haven’t worked very well at all. Yet still, direct mail is my #1 most effective avenue for continually booking shows. If you follow the steps contained in this book you will build and keep a very busy performance schedule. Best of all, you only have to book one show to make back more than what you invest here.
