Choose a warm, sunny, predator-protected location and face the entrance away from prevailing winds. Ensure there is at least 2 m of clearance from nearby branches or obstacles. Periodically check stability and clean the box outside the breeding season. Safety Warning Hang the bat box at a minimum height of 4 meters, in a location protected from the wind and where the sun shines morning and afternoon. Keep the box away from obstacles, and if hanging several boxes, keep them approximately 5 meters away from each other.
