The Balance II combines a toric glass with a full frame, a deliberately classic combination in a current look. The toric shape follows the curvature of the eyes more closely than a cylindrical lens, thus sharpens the image towards the edges of the field of view and creates more air volume in the glasses, which is practically the best defense against fogging. The glass itself is VIVID with Optics by ZEISS. It works via light spectrum control rather than simply darkening: blue light that enhances contrast can pass through, ultraviolet is blocked. Thus, the surface of the snow retains its structure as the clouds rise and the light becomes flat. EVAK ventilation technology allows the glass to breathe, three layers of facial foam distribute the tightness on the face instead of concentrating pressure. The Slash Seal system quickly releases the lens for a hue change, the Expansion View frame keeps peripherals open, and a pair of corrective glasses sits underneath.
