Description

Around the World with 3 Kids tells the story of an amazing family journey, but it is a lot more than that. It is written for any family that loves travel and fun and laughing out loud together. It is also for anyone who finds inspiration in sharing a family’s emotional journey. The author, German-born author Klaus Frömmel is a father-of-three, successful entrepreneur, tourism director and mountain guide who adopted Scotland as his home country. Already a solo world traveller in some of its wilder places, recently widowed Klaus takes his family on an inspirational year-long journey that will take them across six continents to explore fascinating cultures and the natural wonders of the world. • a father’s epic and colourful travelogue • written on two levels, one for adults, the other as a family-read • over 2000 amazing photos, video links, illustrations, great maps and itineraries • one year - six continents - fascinating cultures - the Natural Wonders of the World • engaging insights into people and cultures and fabulous activities • humorous, informative and light-hearted • a family's emotional journey to healing • FREE supplement, a guide to world travel with children Written on two levels – one for adults, also as a family-read - Klaus pioneers an innovative approach to travel writing. Emotionally aware and light-hearted, his idiosyncratic take on life shines through in his humorous and informative observations of people and cultures. With its many stunning photos and videos to complement Klaus’s engaging insights into a colourful diversity of cultures, Around the World with 3 Kids is a simultaneously entertaining and educational story of world travel with children and an account of a family coming together after a devastating emotional trauma. Klaus writes This book is for anyone who likes travelling or reading about it, who is interested in varied colourful cultures and the natural wonders of our world. If your aim is to share your passion with your children, even better. I hope you will find our story interesting to read and the photos and short videos really fun to look at. I have tried to write it in such a way that your experience of it will be as entertaining or educational or informative as you want it to be. You can read it on your own or with your children, perhaps just one chapter at a time, or as a book to go back to little and often in quiet moments. I think you will find that all chapters are written and visually designed so as to be interesting to you and kids of different ages. I hope you will find our journey inspirational. The book’s free appendix ‘A Guide for World Travel with children’ is a hands-on planning guide for parents who want to fulfil their own family’s travel dreams and are looking for advice and guidance. You want to go travelling with your children, for a year or a couple of months, expensively or cheaply? I will guide you through the planning stages, safety planning, vaccines, visas, packing and lots of other stuff. I hope I will soothe most of your and your children’s worries. It’s a do-it-yourself manual and it will get you going with planning and designing your amazing journey. It is a lot of hands-on advice, based on my experience of planning and then adjusting our journey as we were travelling, and also on my 25 years’ experience as a tourism director, tour guide and mountain guide. This is our emotional journey to healing. It is a story about someone trying to come to terms with tremendous loss and attempting to do so by undertaking something seemingly unachievable, together with his children.
