Tascam DP-03SD 8-track Digital Portastudio The DP-03SD is an affordable way to get into Tascam's famed Portastudio system of making recording simple and affordable for musicians. This 8-track digital recorder captures your music at CD quality to affordable SD cards, and a 4GB card is already included with the recorder. With built-in microphones, effects and mastering, the DP-03SD provides everything musicians need to record and share their music. A pair of stereo condenser microphones is built into the front panel of the DP-03SD, helpful for capturing a rehearsal, live performance or songwriting ideas. Also included are a pair of high-quality XLR microphone preamps with phantom power for condenser microphones. 6.3-mm line input jacks are also available, and an instrument-level switch allows you to record a guitar or bass without a direct box. The MPM-1000 comes with the following: MPM-1000 Custom windscreen Shock mount Desktop tripod stand XLR cable Do I need phantom power? Yes! The MPM-1000 is a standard condenser microphone and will require 48vDC power, either supplied by phantom power through an audio interface, mixer, or through an external phantom power supply. Check the specifications for your mixer or audio interface to find out if it can provide phantom power on its own, or if you will need to supply this through an external adapter. Here is a simple procedure for connecting the microphone: 1. Make sure that the gain or volume on your pre-amp, speakers and headphones are all turned down. 2. Make sure that Phantom Power on your Mixer, Audio Interface or external power source is switched off 3. Use the supplied XLR cable and attach the female end securely to the MPM-1000. Connect the male end to your XLR cable to your pre-amp or phantom power supply. 4. Once the MPM-1000 is fully connected to the pre-amp, turn on the phantom power. The included mount won't fit on my microphone stand. Is it compatible? The MPM-1000 comes with a thread adapter that may come left inside the shock mount and can be easy to overlook. This can be used to adapt the microphone to fit on microphone stands with different threading. Most often this is associated with a difference in microphone stands between the US (5/8" threading, without the adapter) and Europe (3/8" threading, with the adapter).
