Description

If someone else were to release an album that sounded as remarkably close as "Haavard" to ULVER's magical acoustic masterpiece "Kveldssanger," which baffled Norwegian followers with its radiant beauty in 1996 and also included a track entitled "Kveldssang II," this musician would accuse the blatant plagiarism. digt. But guitarist and vocalist Haavard Jorgensen is the musical mastermind behind "Kveldssanger" and "Haavard," meaning that his debut album as a solo artist is partly a legitimate follow-up to ULVER's folk excursion into acoustic sounds he has realized with the help of many outstanding guest musicians, including vocals by Kristoffer. "Garm" "Garm" Ry". G Under the banner of HAAVARD, the Norwegian continues his unique artistic approach, revealing the epic and sublime melodies deeply rooted in the folklore of his native country. Through his acoustic and largely instrumental translation, Jorgensen exposes the spectacular layers of cinematic beauty hidden under Norwegian black metal. In the '90s, Jorgensen was an essential part of Oslo's rapidly emerging black metal scene. After joining ECZEMA and continuing as the trio turned to black metal with a new singer under the new name SATYRICON Jorgensen also became part of the progressive spearheads ULVER of the black scene. Although Jorgensen was somewhat disappointed with black metal for a while, Jorgensen continued to perform in various formations, contributing acoustic guitars to MYRKUR's "M" (2015) and the live album "Mausoleum" (2016). In 2019, the guitarist, along with three current and former members of DODHEIMSGARD, founded the new Oslo Black Metal Act DOLD VORDE ENSD NAVN. With his passion for the darker side of music, Jorgensen kindled to pick up the loose ends of the beautiful musical thread that "Kveldssanger" had left behind with his self-proclaimed solo project HAAVARD. With many years of experience, "Haavard" once again invites us to an acoustic journey into the beating melodic heart of dark Nordic music.
