About leveling casters Leveling plate casters(also known as leveling caster wheels) are used on vending machines, retail displays, lab equipment, workstations, and other equipment that will be moved often but must be kept stationary when in use. They allow the equipment to roll or be re-positioned and save time when re-configuring floor plans or production lines. Each caster has a top plate that bolts onto the bottom of the equipment. Each caster also has a leveling pad that can be raised to allow the caster to roll and lowered to prevent the caster from rolling. The pad’s height can be adjusted to level the equipment. As the leveling pad for each caster on a piece of equipment is raised and lowered, the equipment’s weight will temporarily be concentrated on fewer casters.
