Amerigo Vespucci is the current Naval Academy of the Italian Navy. It was launched in 1931 by the shipyards of Castellammare di Stabia. It was designed by Lieutenant Colonel Francesco Rotundi, following the trends of sailing warships, which inspired the lines and proportions of the 3-masted ship, with a length of 83 m, a main shaft of 55 m and a sailing surface of 3100 m. It is the true flagship of the Italian Navy.
