Description

Full Title: "A Law Dictionary of Words, Terms, Abbreviations and Phrased which are Peculiar to the Law and of Those Which Have a Peculiar Meaning in the Law, Containing Latin Phrase and Maxims With Their Translations and a Table of the Names of American and English Law and Equity Reports and their Abbreviations." Ballentine's Law Dictionary is a 632-page compendium of legal terms and their definitions, many of which are ancient and obscure. James A. Ballentine, Dean of the San Fransisco Law School, released this first edition of his dictionary shortly after Henry Campbell Black released the 1910 second edition of his "Black's Law Dictionary." Though not as widely published as Black's Law Dictionary, Ballentine's Law Dictionary is still highly sought after, especially by those who know of and own Black's.
