If there's only one jacket in your cycling wardrobe, this is the one you should have. The Perfetto RoS 2 is the jacket that does everything perfectly. If you look closely, the Perfetto RoS 2 is a long-sleeved version of the Gabba RoS 2. So is it just a hotter Gabba? Not exactly. The long sleeves completely transform it into a jacket, but a jacket that covers a wide range of conditions. Like the Gabba, the RoS technology excels in dry conditions thanks to its high breathability, as well as in wet conditions thanks to Castelli's exclusive GORE-TEX INFINIUM™ WINDSTOPPER® fabrics. The surfaces of the front are in a lightweight water resistant fleece lined fabric while the reverse is in a lighter and more stretchy fabric that maximizes breathability whilst offering excellent water repellency. The Perfetto RoS 2 insulates you from the cold wind and is far more breathable than the typical polyurethane membranes used on most jackets that try to compete with the Perfetto. When you stay drier, there's no need for so many layers. The nice thing about this jacket is that it doesn't have built-in insulation, so you can use it in combination with a thin base layer in mild conditions while adding an insulating layer (a thermal shirt or Castelli's Alpha 2nd Layer) will great for cold temperatures. The choice is yours. The "2" in the name refers to updates to the latest version, including a YKK® Vislon® zip that opens from both the top and bottom for fine-tuned ventilation. The reflective insert on the back is more visible, the seam on the upper shoulder has been moved to the back and the three pockets are more spacious. While Perfect maintains a snug fit, the new model offers a little more comfort in the chest, shoulders and biceps. The jacket that should not be missing in every cyclist's arsenal.
