As a Clinical Hypnotherapist who works with women experiencing menopause but also as a woman who has recently “gone through it”, I decided to put together all of my knowledge and best practice in this training manual. I want to share it with you so that other hypnotherapists can help women to have the best experience that they possibly can by using the powerful modality of hypnosis. Of course, menopause is nothing new. It’s something that women have experienced since the beginning of time, but suddenly it seems that it’s really getting attention and women are finally feeling able to be open about it and talk about it. A new generation of women has started to break the wall of silence! It’s finally being taken seriously and hopefully it’s no longer something that women feel shouldn’t be discussed and should just be dealt with behind closed doors. It’s certainly an issue that I have recently seen an influx of clients for, which I think is illustrative of the fact that women no longer are prepared to just put up with suffering through it. Again, on the plus side, the Government in the UK recently set up a new Menopause Taskforce to ensure that women will be better supported in the future. This progress has come about due to the efforts of many individuals and groups and largely led by women experiencing the challenges of living with peri-menopausal, menopausal and postmenopausal symptoms. Which for many are hugely debilitating and impact enormously on each aspect of their lives.
