New motor designed exclusively for direct-drive turntables The TN-4D-SE uses a sleek, brushless DC motor that offers crystal-clear speed accuracy controlled by a computer-controlled feedback circuit and achieves low wow and flutter levels for a direct-drive turntable, especially one with such a sleek, low-profile design. Razor-sharp, pivoting tonearms In collaboration with SAEC Corporation, a world-renowned manufacturer of high-end tonearms, the TN-4D-SE's tonearm features a Knife-Edge pivot point bearing. Unlike conventionally mounted tonearms, the fine vertical movements of this tonearm help to deliver a more dynamic sound with excellent resolution. The S-shaped tonearm features a universal headshell mount that allows quick and easy cartridge/headshell replacement, and supports a wide range of cartridge weights (from 14 - 23 g). Precision anti-skating and needle pressure adjustment. As you would expect, the tonearm is equipped with a counterweight for precise adjustment of needle pressure and an anti-skating mechanism. Precision Anti-Skating and Needle Pressure Adjustment The TN-4D-SE comes preloaded with the proven Oyster MM cartridge from SUMIKO - a legendary American cartridge manufacturer. Regardless of the type of music, the Oyster cartridge delivers a powerful but sensitive performance. Built-in PHONO EQ amplifier for MM cartridges The TN-4D-SE has a built-in PHONO EQ amplifier that allows you to connect the turntable directly to the line-level inputs of your existing hi-fi system. The operational amplifier is the NJM8080 IC from New Japan Radio Corporation, which boosts the level of the tiny signals received via the cartridge to LINE level without any loss of quality. Die-cast aluminium platter The low-inertia die-cast aluminium platter, in conjunction with the newly developed motor, contributes to improved speed stability. Feet with excellent shock absorption The feet consist of a milled aluminium shell with a rubber pad attached to the high-density MDF base. Thanks to their excellent shock-absorption properties, the TN-4D-SE is highly resistant to acoustic feedback. 2-speed turntable for 33-⅓ and 45 rpm.
