It's suitable for use by children and adults, and is great for wheelchair users. The table is extremely versatile and ideal to place a drink on, or to eat a meal in bed or in front of the TV--it's ideal for a leisurely breakfast in bed. You can keep objects such as the telephone or your spectacles close to hand. The table tilts so you can use it to hold a book or magazine at an ideal angle for reading, or can be kept flat for writing or activities such as jigsaw puzzles and board games. The table is made from powder coated, chrome plated steel so it's reliable and sturdy. The frame is white and features four black castor wheels with a brake on each that you just flip upwards to apply, which stops the table moving when it is in the desired position. The base design fits easily under beds and chairs with a gap of more than 100 mm between the floor and the underneath of the furniture (not divan beds). The table can be placed close to the body when necessary which is useful when eating. The height of the table top can be adjusted easily by slackening the two, large, easy-to-grip hand knobs, adjusting the table top to the preferred height between 66cm - 95cm (26"-37½"), then tightening the knobs again. Each side of the table top can be adjusted independently, so to tilt it simply make the height at one side lower than the opposite side, which will give an angle up to 35 degrees if required. The table has a stylish, laminated, beech effect top which is easy to wipe clean. It is 60cm (23½") long and 40cm (15¾") deep and has raised lips on the horizontal edges to prevent items slipping or rolling off. The maximum load weight of the table is 10kg (22lb). The back rest can be used by anyone who wants more support when relaxing in bed but it is particularly useful for someone who spends a lot of time in bed due to illness or injury. The support is an economical and affordable alternative to a pillow lifter or mattress elevator and offers the position when you wish to eat, drink, read, watch television or simply sit up for a while. The frame of the back rest is made from sturdy, white, coated metal while the back rest section is formed from blue mesh type fabric. Also included is a padded headrest which attaches with hook and loop fastening and can therefore be removed if necessary. The back rest is very simple to set up. It is supplied folded flat and all you need to do is open out the frame by pulling the two sections away from one another. There is a metal section attached to the front part of the frame which slots into one of six cut out half circles on each side of the base frame section. This creates the angle of the back rest which can be adjusted until you achieve the position. The angle adjusts between 20 and 75 degrees through the six possible positions.
