With an aperture range from f/2.5 to f/22, Lensbaby Soft Focus II optic is a new and improved version of one of the earliest and, recently, most sought-after optics in Lensbaby's Optic Swap System, the original Soft Focus optic. Compatible with all current and older Lensbaby Optic Swap lens bodies, the Soft Focus II enhances its predecessor by adding a 12-blade manually adjustable internal aperture to its unique and versatile drop-in magnetic aperture system. When shooting at the brightest aperture settings, the SoftFocus II creates an impressionistic image with subtly sharp detail underneath. With a color palette that tends to soft pastel tones at lighter apertures and a remarkably flat field of focus, this optics allow images that cannot be realized with any other lens. With an aperture of f/8 or darker, the Soft Focus II produces beautifully detailed, traditionally sharp images with a large central focus area and blurred edges on full-frame sensors and 35mm film. The rapid variability of the optical effect from impressionistic and glowing to high-contrast and sharp is made possible by the 12-blade internal aperture adjusted by turning the front of the optics.
