Description

It is quite common for manifold studs to break when their nuts are being removed for engine and exhaust repairs, this is often due to corrosion. The studs and nuts go through thousands of heat cycles over the life of the engine and often the studs can shear due to the continual expansion and contraction of the head, manifold and studs as the engine heats up and then cools down. The kit contains 100 assorted engine manifold studs/nuts suitable for both inlet and exhaust manifold made up of the most common M8 and M10 sizes. The studs are threaded at both ends with the outer/longer thread able to be cut to length where the application requires it to be adapted. The selection of nuts provided include copper flashed steel (anti-seize coating) and brass nuts. The brass nuts offer excellent anti-seize & corrosion qualities at high temperatures but require a bigger hex size for M10 thread sizes than copper flashed steel. For the removal/installation of manifold studs use Laser Stud Removal & Installer Kit, Part No. 7804.
