The L12024UNF set contains a starter range of unified fine (UNF) right hand taps and dies for creating internal and external threads primarily in steel, aluminium and stainless steels, and also includes the tap and die holders for a good set of hand tapping tools - all together in a smart case with carry handle and latch lock fasteners. The set includes: - The E524 tap for internal unified fine threads made from High Speed steel with longer tool life and improved performance. Each thread size in the set comes with two thread designs which can be used one after the other to produce an accurate thread in the material. The straight flutes mean the E524 can be used to thread both holes which stop part way through a material (blind holes) and also holes which go all the way through (through holes). It comes with a bright finish to prevent material from sticking to the edge of the tool and is suitable for hand tapping many materials including steels, aluminium and stainless steels, making it a very versatile tool. The L112 tap wrenches provide a good hold on the taps so you can hand tap the holes, and each tap in the set will fit into one of the wrenches. For external threads we include the F330 High Speed steel adjustable hand die for superior performance. This is a right hand die for normal unified fine threads with a bright finish which means workpiece material will not stick to the cutting edge of the die. The die is designed with a split in the ring which allows you to make small adjustments when threading to achieve the desired tolerance on the threads. To be used by hand with a die stock (L110), the F330 is suitable for hand tapping steels, stainless steels and aluminium. The L110 die stocks included in the set will securely hold the F330 dies.
