Product description: America in the 19th century: the expanses of prairie are crossed by the rails of the railway. Cowboys drive their cattle herds through the land in search of gold and freedom. As a livestock breeder, you repeatedly drive your herds from Texas to Kansas City, where you send them by train on the journey towards the East Coast. To earn money, you have to keep your herds well in shot and use the buildings along the path wisely. In addition, you should hire capable personnel: cowboys to enlarge your herds, craftsmen to build their own buildings and engineers to extend the railway. Anyone who pays good attention to their herd and best masters the chances and pitfalls of the cattle trail through clever timing, will receive the most victory points and carry the victory away. In Great Western Trail, players move their livestock driver along a cattle trail that winds from the lower right corner of the game plan to Kansas City in the upper left corner. On the buildings along the path, you can perform actions that bring victory points in different ways. For example: build your own buildings, buy cattle from the market, expand train stations or eliminate dangers. Every time a livestock driver reaches Kansas City, cattle must be loaded there and sent by train to another city, for which there can also be victory points. After that, the livestock driver starts his movement again in the lower right corner of the game plan and will reach Kansas City about 5 to 7 times over the course of the game.
