The ABB Protecta Plus TL1 twilight switch is a DIN rail mounted device designed for automatic light-dependent control of lighting installations in residential, commercial and public environments. With a width of 17.5 mm (1 module), it is suitable for installation in distribution boards and control cabinets. The unit operates at 110 to 230 V AC, 50 to 60 Hz, and features a normally open (NO) contact. The switching threshold can be adjusted on the front of the device within a range of 2 to 200 lux, allowing precise adaptation to site-specific lighting conditions. An integrated switching delay of approximately 20 to 25 seconds for both ON and OFF functions helps prevent unnecessary switching caused by temporary light variations. The TL1 is supplied with an external TLs light sensor for wall mounting, with a cable length of up to 100 m. LED indicators in red and green provide clear visual signalling of the configured brightness threshold and contact status, supporting efficient commissioning and operational monitoring. The device complies with EN 60669-1, EN 60669-2-1 and EN 60730-1 standards. Installation of non plug-in electrical equipment intended for operation up to 400 V must be carried out by a qualified electrician in accordance with applicable regulations and the product instructions.
