Majosta Elducation Concept

INTRODUCTION Aletheia means “truth” in Greek, which is the word used in Jesus’ proclamation in John 14:6, that he is “the Way, the Truth and the Life”. The Truth Jesus announces to be is not a propositional truth, but truth itself. He is the Word of God and the Author of life and any true education will have him as its centre. Educationally, this means that everything we do in the classroom and outside is centred on understanding God’s world from God’s point of view. Whatever, subject(s) taught is done distinctively from a God centred point of view. Philosophically, this means that we teach and instruct learners to be prepared to hold and promote godly virtues and values in a world that increasingly despises God and His Word. This paper is aimed at causing a positive revolution in the educational sector with the mind of Christ with the aim of tearing down the strongholds in which the world system trusts. This involves building a Biblical worldview which sees the acquisition of knowledge, aptitude and skills from a biblical standpoint. In this paper also, I tend to argue that the only standpoint on which to launch revolution in the academia would be by the introduction of the “Elducation” concept and use biblical based curriculum and spirit filled Christians who would propagate the kingdom values and principles. In the course of this presentation, there would be a need to move away from the status quo or “comfort” zones which have stagnated and truncated the learning process and embrace “Alternatives” that will spark a revolution worldwide. A paradigm shift is necessary at this point because the present standards, conventions and systems in our educational sector has failed to produce transformed lives, which is the end product of every learning process. The decay and dwindling standards of education can be revamped if conclusions found in this research paper would be welcome and implemented. I. ELducation Concept This is an educational concept based on God or God – centred education. The word “ELducation” ia a Hebrew coinage from the root word “EL”. In the group of Semitic languages, the most common word for Deity is EL. It is found throughout the Old Testament of the Bible and it is frequently combined with nouns or adjectives to express the Divine name with reference to particular attributes or phrases of His being, as EL Ohim, EL Elyon, EL Roi, etc. ELducation literally means “God imparted Knowledge”, the same word is translated as “Theos” in Greek. Thus, Theology, being the “study of God”, ELducation is “Learning in God’s point of view”. If a true picture of society were to be presented to view, it is not easy to believe that even they who oppose the God – centred education could wish for the old days when schools were being controlled by Missionary agencies. For this, at any rate, may be asserted, without fear of gainsaying that no other worldview than that of the Bible has proved competent to control an advanced or even an advancing state of civilization, which is brought about by educated minds. God is “Omni – Science” which means “All Knowing” or “All Knowledge”. If then God knows all things, which of course is true; it therefore means that God – centred concept of education is self – sufficient. Every other bound has been successively passed and submerged by the rising tide; how deep only the student of history (His – Story) knows. Two things are here undeniable. In the case of human – centred, every advance in knowledge has marked a progressive lowering of public morality and the standard of education, the earlier stages of normal life always showing a far higher tone than the later. On the contrary, the ELducation concept fully rooted in Biblical worldview has increasingly risen, if not uniformly the public morals, yet always the tone and standard of public morality; it has continued to exhibit a standard never yet attained and it has proved its power to control public and ...
