The Wildfire Edge from Salewa for men is a technical approach shoe that can be transformed from hiking to climbing shoe. The Salewa Switchfit system is as simple as it is clever and was developed together with mountain guides and top climbers in the Dolomites: simply pull the laces together and up at the back eyelet. This pulls the foot forward into the toe cap, the toes are compressed like in a climbing shoe. After climbing, you can loosen the laces on the back eyelet, so that the toe cap widens and offers greater comfort when hiking. To improve climbing precision, the Wildfire Edge from Salewa is also equipped with an edging plate, an insole plate under the forefoot that provides extra stiffness under the toes. The Pomoca Speed MTN sole works thanks to Pomoca butyl compound with improved grip and higher friction in dry and wet weather. The sole has a precision climbing zone in the toe area, good edging performance and aggressive studs for improved traction on muddy and soft surfaces. For better torsion resistance, the outer material of the Salewa Wildfire Edge is made of Exa Shell, which wraps around the foot in combination with the 3-F system for flexibility, fit and support. The climbing shoe lacing system goes down to the toes to deliver a more precise fit and more adjustment options.
