Ronseal Direct to Metal Paint Black Matt 2.5L

Ronseal Direct to Metal Paint is a high quality water based paint that provides a tough and durable finish to your metal, and can be applied directly to rust. Before you start, make sure the metal is clean, dry and free from dirt, dust and grease. Choose a dry day, above 10°C, when it’s not likely to rain. To prepare bare metal, remove any loose rust or paint with a wire brush or 120 grit sandpaper. Surfaces should be wiped down with a damp cloth to remove dust, dirt and grease. You can apply Ronseal Direct To Metal Paint directly to the surface without the need of a primer. To prepare previously painted metal that is in a good condition, lightly sand with 240 grit sandpaper. Wipe with a damp cloth. Flaking paint needs to be removed. Be careful preparing any surfaces that were painted before 1960, as they may be coated with lead paint. Give it a really good stir for 2-3 minutes, then use a roller or brush to put it on. Alternatively you can also spray this product, to do this, dilute the paint with about 10% water or to the spray specifications. 2 coats will provide sufficient coverage, but 3 coats are recommended for rusty surfaces and ultimate durability. Leave for 2-4 hours between each coat. After your last coat, it’ll be touch dry in 30 minutes.
