PolarPro BaseCamp Matte Box Directors Kit The PolarPro BaseCamp Matte Box Directors Kit is a comprehensive Matte Box set with a beautifully finished filter holder and multiple creative filters. This BaseCamp kit includes a filter holder with lens hood and flag, Stage 3 adapter, an EVA Case, clamping rings, 77mm and 82mm Thread Plate, a VND 2-5 stops, a VND 6-9 stops filter and a CP filter. Also included in the Directors Kit are the special BlueMorphic and GoldMorphic filters, the Mist and Heavy mist filters and finally an ND8-GR soft grey gradient filter. The BaseCamp Matte Box is ideal for shooting documentaries, short films, music videos, creative expressions and other commercial projects. The filter holder with lens hood First, mount the Thread Plate on your camera. Then you place the filter holder according to the PolarPro SnapOn principle on the plate, so you don't need any other tools. To keep the whole system as light as possible, all elements and accessories are made of lightweight aluminium. On the filter holder there is a lens hood and a flag. The lens hood prevents incoming light and unwanted lens flare. This allows you to retain more detail in your images. The lens hood also provides extra protection for a fixed filter during use and transportation. The lens hood and/or flag are not necessary to use the filter holder and can be removed. CP Filter In the filter holder there is a circular polarising filter groove in which the CPOL filter can easily be placed. The filter is fixed with a slide and on the side of the filter holder there is a dial to control the polarization of the filter. This system is light tight so that false light does not get a chance. It is important that the letters on the CPOL filter point outwards. The VND filters Both VND filters have a small piece of extra aluminium at the top to hold the filter, this prevents fingerprints on the filter. The filter holder has a slide to insert a filter. The slide is closed at the bottom and suitable for a square VND filter. The complete securing of the filter is done by means of a rotary knob on the side of the filter holder. By adjusting the CPOL filter you can change between 2 and 5 stops, or 6 - 9 stops. The 2-5 VND filter is ideal if you are shooting during sunrise or sunset, when the amount of light is diminishing. The 6-9 VND filter is ideal for shooting in bright conditions with large apertures. BlueMorphic filter and GoldMorphic filter The BaseCamp Morphic filters add professional blue or warm anamorphic-style lens flares to your images without the need for a special lens. Lens flares are the characteristic horizontal lines in the image when light rays shine directly into your lens. These Hollywood-style flares from any light source in the image add an extra layer of production value. This round filter is placed where the CPOL filter can also be placed. There is only room for one filter and it cannot be used in combination with the circular polarizer. Stage 3 Adapter The BaseCamp Stage 3 Adapter is placed on the Matte Box to enable the rectangular BaseCamp grey gradient filters to be placed on the filter holder. The ND8-GR Soft gradient filter The BaseCamp ND8-GR filter is a Soft gradient filter that corrects light by 3 stops at the top of the filter. This filter is perfect for balancing the exposure of the sky and the ground. The soft gradient of this grayscale filter allows you to correct exposure smoothly and evenly. This rectangular filter requires the BaseCamp Stage 3 adapter to be mounted on the Matte Box. Fog and Heavy Fog filter The Mist filters add a dreamy and smooth look to the video footage. They also give a polished look to subjects without sacrificing contrast and colour accuracy. The Mist filter has a similar diffusion strength of ¼ and the Heavy Mist filter a strong diffusion of 1/2. The Thread Plates With a Thread Plate you can rotate the entire filter holder 360 degrees without having to remove it from your camera. On top of the filter holder there is a dial to tighten the Thread Plate completely or to loosen it a bit to be able to turn it. This kit comes with two Thread Plates, one of 77mm and one of 82mm. PolarPro also has separate Thread Plates with dimensions of 67mm, 72mm and 95mm. EVA case for safe transport The filter holder comes with a sturdy EVA case to transport the filter holder. The case with handle has large zip pulls that can be operated even with gloves on. The filter holder with CP and filter with fits into the bag in its entirety. You also get a cloth to easily wipe away any fingerprints.
