The VAX01202 is a solution for connecting the latest TVs equipped with an HDMI EARC connection to previous audio systems. Modern players such as the XBox Series X or the PlayStation PS5 can be connected directly to the TV, even via HDMI 2.1. Therefore, there are no restrictions on video formats or games. At the same time, high-quality audio formats can be played back as normal HDMI signals via the AV receiver. The VAX01202 converts eARC audio signals into a conventional HDMI signal. So the AV receiver or the audio system does not need to support a new video format. A black screen and sound are provided. All eARC audio formats are possible, for example Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby TrueHD, DTS-HD, PCM5.1, Dolby MAT, Dolby Atmos. A standard HDMI input on the audio system is sufficient for this. An HDMI-ARC connection on a soundbar is not suitable for connection. The VAX01202 can be used as an HDMI splitter after manual switching. The signal from an HDMI player is thus distributed between the television/projector and the audio system. An HDMI signal up to a maximum of 4K 60 Hz Dolby Vision passes through the TV output. The audio system receives a black screen and the audio signal. This means that older AV receivers can also be used with HDMI 1.3/1.4. Power is supplied via a USB device socket, the power supply is not included (max. 350 mA, power consumption <1.75 W). Notes When used as an eARC audio extractor, please refrain from a direct connection between the AV receiver and the television or deactivate HDMI-CEC on the AV receiver. Otherwise, a loop with a malfunction is created. Note Please do not cover the case or the power supply and do not install the unit to avoid overheating. Keep away from heat sources, fire, water, and moisture Do not place heavy objects on the appliance or on the connection cables. Do not open or drill holes in the housing Use only USB ports that are appropriate for power. Clean the surface of the appliance only with a soft, dry cloth. It cannot function on the HDMI-ARC connection of a soundbar, the audio system requires a normal HDMI input (the HDMI-ARC connection of a soundbar is an HDMI output! When using the eARC audio extractor, avoid a direct connection between the AV receiver and the Philips/TCL TV or deactivate the HDMI-CEC function on the AV receiver. Otherwise, a loop and a malfunction will occur.
