Product Description Quiko Hand-Rearing Formula is a high-quality complete food for parrots and parakeets. Hand-Rearing Formula is a nutritious diet for feeding fledglings by hand. This mixture is produced in a special process, which produces an immediately soluble product with the very important, correct bacteria level for the young bird. The high nutritional value of Hand-Rearing Formula promotes the growth of the young birds. They can tolerate solid foods much quicker and develop better feathers with more intensive colours than birds, which are fed with homemade mixtures. The number of necessary feeds is reduced through the high nutritional value and you achieve a regular craw movement with the correct application of the mixture. Hand-Rearing Formula is recommended for all types of parrots and parakeets and can also be used for orphaned singing birds living in their natural environment. Directions Hand-Rearing Formula is prepared using warm tap water (in case your tap water contains bacteria, we recommend using mineral or boiled water). Preparation of the mixture by age: Hatching to 2 days: 1 part Hand-Formula + 6 parts water 2 to 5 days: 1 part Hand-Formula + 2 - 3 parts water 5 days to solid food: 1 part Hand-Formula + 1,5 - 2 parts water Prepare the rearing feed according to the above table and mix warm water in a clean, hygienic container to a creamy mass. Mix thoroughly and leave standing for 1 minute. Allow the prepared mixture to cool down to 40 °C. Feed the ready-made mixture with a disposal syringe or a tube. Each meal usually amounts to approximately 10-12 % of the bodyweight of the bird. Desinfect all feeding utensils before each use. Should supplements be requested you can added fruit and vegetables (such as for example pureed baby food). This should however not amount to more than 20 % of the total food. IMPORTANT: do not reuse the prepared mixture! Dispose of and prepare new for each feeding time. Please store in a cool, dry place. Close the tin firmly after each use.
