The main function of the Line Level Shifter is to increase or lower the signal voltage between -10dBu and +4dBV (depending on which direction you switch it). The Line Level Shifter® also interrupts the interference that causes earth hum and hum, converting back and forth between balanced and unbalanced connections AND prevents the cable from acting as an antenna for noise. Simply place a channel of the Line Level Shifters® on the cable connections between the two unbalanced devices - the Line Level Shifter® does not affect the audio quality, but improves it. We use 1/4" jack sockets that accept any combination of unbalanced (TS) or unbalanced (TRS) plugs. These are passive devices (no power required) in cold rolled steel housings, with hand-soldered PCBs and high-quality components and hardware.
