Relaxation based pain relief processes have been recommended by the National Institutes of Health since 1995. In addressing the opioid crisis both the American College of Physicians and the US Department of Health and Human services have issued empirically-based clinical recommendations for the use of these types of processes as standard of care nonpharmacological pain relief. This manual provides the training necessary to relieve pain quickly, efficiently, and effectively in medical and mental health treatment settings.
