A robot that plays, for example, "scissors, stone, paper", can calculate, become a compass or digital cube, measures the temperature, can be controlled remotely via app - this is Proxi. The assembly of Proxi is part of the experiment box and of course the instructions show step by step what to do and give instructions on what to look for when assembling. This promotes fine motor skills and gives a great insight into the inner workings of the robot. In this way, children can understand how Proxi works very well. Once Proxi is set up, the micro:bit board comes into play. KOSMOS offers programming beginners ready codes for download, so that you can start playing directly with Proxi. Children only need to plug the micro:bit to a computer with the included USB cable and drag and drop the downloaded code onto the board. Then the micro:bit is simply plugged into Proxis head and the fun can begin: it sings and dances, becomes a bowling ball or displays small notes in its display. Of course, children can also program the micro:bit board themselves. How to do this, the instructions explain child-friendly and with a clear example. The micro:bit board is programmed using a graphic, block-based programming language (MakeCode). Children can modify the existing codes or write their own programs. And of course, all the knowledge and projects of the huge micro:bit community are open to them. Users can access the programming editor and community projects via the microbit.org page, which is run by the Micro:bit Educational Foundation, a non-profit organization whose goal is to provide children with access to education in the field of IT. Proxi is a Microbit Foundation approved micro:bit accessory kit. The micro:bit board includes the following equipment: - Programmable microcontroller, incl. own memory - Bluetooth - Acceleration sensor - Compass - 2 programmable buttons - 5x5 LED display - LEDs can be used as light sensor - Processor can be used as a temperature sensor - Pins for output and input of signals Proxi also brings an additional board that provides a connector for the micro:bit --Platine off. This board allows the micro:bit to control the robot functions. In addition, it includes the following features: - Infrared sensors - Buzzer for outputting sounds - Connection to the battery compartment to power the micro:bit A modern and playful introduction to the world of programming. Contents: components for assembling the robot, original bbc micro:bit microcontroller, USB cable, 2 motors, instructions, screwdriver. Additionally required: 4 x 1.5 volt battery type LR09 (AAA, micro) side cutter (or alternatively a scissors and a small file), PC (Windows or Mac), optional: smartphone for remote control (Android version 6.0 / iOS from version 11).
