In 1963, a leather craftsman named Sante Mazzarolo spawned a future icon. Based in the small northern Italian town of Asolo and with the perennial alpine star flower as its namesake, Mr. Mazzarolo began producing the first products to bear the nickname Alpinestars At this time, a new sport called motocross was established and became increasingly popular throughout Europe.
