The extender is a complete two-part hardware solution including a transmitter that connects directly to the user's computer and a receiver that connects the USB device, using standard duplex LC fiber cabling. This extender is ideal for long distance use with remote desktop links, industrial control systems, monitoring control rooms and external storage applications. Using fiber optic transmission, this extender offers high resistance to electromagnetic interference and radio interference, which is perfect for use in "noisy" areas such as hospitals, supermarkets or industrial buildings. Note: This extender is not backward compatible with USB 2.0.
