Description

A sturdy brass lamp that was, for years, the only approved lantern for use in cargo holds. It offers all-round illumination, with convenient fittings for suspending from ropes or wall brackets. Measures 38cm tall (excluding handle), and 16cm square. Oil burner uses 13mm single wick with a burn time of approximately 12 hours per filling.

This fine brass ships lamps was traditional used in the cargo holds and below decks and gave strong all round illumination

Strong grid bars protected the glass during heavy passages at sea.

Convenient fittings for suspending from ropes or wall brackets

This is a traditional oil burning lamp. Lamp oil is readily available in hardware stores and garden centres. Uses 12mm single wick - with burn time of 12 hours per filling
