This Meinl Percussion Cajon from the Solea line Artisan Edition has a classy dark olive-green finish. There is a passive piezo pickup system inside the cajon with sound and volume controls on the side panel if you need amplification. A 6.3mm cable jack allows you to route your signal through any amplifier or PA system (cable not included). Additionally, this cajon is equipped with a 6.3mm "link" jack that allows you to connect other Meinl instruments with passive pickups to the cajon system and control their output with the cajon's controls. It’s great to minimise your setup when you don't need additional amplifiers or outputs. Solea line Artisan Edition Cajons feature two sets of four pre-tuned, hand-wound steel cajon strings that stretch across the inside of the playing surface for a wonderfully responsive snare effect. An internal bass reflex system redirects the sound waves inside the cajon to extend the low notes. This gives the frequencies more time to develop inside the body of the cajon, resulting in an enhanced bass tone with plenty of thump. The exquisite Baltic birch playing surface is rounded at the corners and sanded to create thumb indentations where your hands lie in their natural position. This gives you exceptional comfort and contact with the cajon. The 9-ply, 12 mm thick soundbox made from Baltic birch develops the sound into a full, punchy tone that stands out with clarity and warmth. This cajon measures 30 cm long, 28.5 cm wide and 48 cm high. It is made in Spain by master cajon maker Jose "Pepote" Hernandez Diaz.
