Après le grand succès remporté par les éditions précédentes, il était indispensable d'actualiser et de compléter ce travail sans équivalent dans la littérature francophone. Cette nouvelle édition est enrichie par un chapitre sur l'intérêt et l'efficacité des infiltrations en intra-articulaire spécifiés pour chaque appareil anatomique, un chapitre sur les infiltrations échoguidées ainsi que les cotations interventionnelles en échographie et un chapitre sur les associations de produits en intra-articulaire. Le chapitre Prévention des infections associées aux infiltrations a été entièrement revu. Les gestes locaux, qu'ils soient pratiqués au cabinet ou en structure institutionnelle - hôpital ou clinique - valorisent l'activité du rhumatologue. La rhumatologie est une spécialité dont l'aspect technique est actuellement insuffisamment pris en compte. Cette activité thérapeutique et diagnostique, exercée par un même praticien, est rassurante, valorisante et cohérente pour le patient et le médecin. Un des objectifs de cet ouvrage est d'accompagner le praticien dans la réalisation de ces gestes locaux et de lui apporter un complément de formation. Pour chacun des gestes expliqués, nous rappelons le but, les indications, le matériel nécessaire, la nouvelle nomenclature des actes médicaux, la technique et les éventuels complications. Pour certains gestes, une fiche de technique sous écho-guidage élaborée par Roland Hamisultane, ainsi qu'une fiche d'informations aux patients est proposée. Co-fondateur avec Nagi Mimassi du DU douleurs chroniques rebelles au CHU de Brest en 1999. Intervenant au DIU de rhumatologie interventionnelle, dirigé par Yves Maugars, au CHU Nantes. Membre du SIRIS (Section Imagerie et Rhumatologie Interventionnelle de la Société française de rhumatologie). Chercheur-associé à l'ENSSAT, Lannion (stress et ses conséquences).
