The classic aesthetic of the Overcurve R4 belies an advanced construction technique. A resilient polyurethane laminated material is combined on a comfortable mesh, resulting in reduced yield and provides long-lasting foot support where it is needed. The closure is fast and secure, powered by a micro-adjustable BOA IP1 dial in an Overcurve model. Overcurve is a shoe construction featuring a staggered collar that wraps around the ankle, tracing the natural misalignment of the two bone protrusions of the ankle: the lateral and medial malleolus. The result is an asymmetrical shape, with the throat of the shoe curving over the foot from the outside to the inside. The new moderately rigid R4 outsole offers a balance between comfort and pedaling efficiency to make it a true all-rounder. R4 has a new, even lower profile, and is structurally optimized with a composition that includes 15% carbon fiber infused. The R4 outsole provides efficient ventilation and internal channel for temperature management. The cleat positioning is slightly further behind traditional settings to optimize pedaling efficiency and reduce knee compression, especially suitable for very aggressive aerodynamic positions.
