This speaker has a built-in limiter to prevent the internal drivers from being blown through. Our TS3 series speakers feature a switchable preamp that is part of the volume/gain potentiometer on the back of the unit. Once the pot is above the 1 o'clock mark, the preamp input switches to a microphone level pre from a line-level pre. It is important to note that these winning pots are parallel to the level of performance. When users find that the signal is distorted, the "Signal Limit" LED lights up red, indicating that the incoming source is too high. This signal must be attenuated to ensure that the preamp is not "cut off".
