Description

Himmerod Abbey is a Cistercian abbey founded by Bernhard von Clairvaux in the Bernkastel-Wittlich district, on the edge of the Moselle wine-growing region. Himmerod Abbey cultivated vines from the 12th century until the 19th century. Lease agreements for the most famous vineyards on the Middle Moselle were concluded during the monastery's existence. The wines for the Edition Abtei Himmerod were selected in collaboration with the monks of the abbey and the oenologists of the Hechtsheim winery. Particular emphasis was placed on the tupic minerality and varietal typicity of the Riesling wines in order to reflect the unique terroir of the Moselle in the best possible way.

The nose is dominated by fresh citrus aromas and notes of green apples

On the palate, this Riesling enchants with its fine, fresh acidity and a long finish

It will be paired perfectly with slightly spicy cuisine, Asian cuisine, Sushi, or slightly acidic dishes such as cheesecakes, burrata, veal with cream sauce

The ideal serving temperature for this wine is 10-12°C
