The JV183DZ is a compact and lightweight 18V cordless top handle Jigsaw, a member of the G-Series range of Makita power tools. The G-Series range from Makita is a different lithium-ion battery platform to the Makita LXT range of power tools and is powered exclusively by the G-Series battery and DC18WA charger. The G-Series battery is identifiable by the white or grey top section and offers a 2.0 Ah battery capacity in the 18V platform with a 60 minute charge time. The JV183DZ is a cordless Jigsaw, powered by Li-ion 18V G-Series battery (not included) to supply energy to the powerful 18V motor, with variable speed controlled by dial, to deliver 0 to 2900 spm and 280 watt maximum output, ideal for use in a wide range of materials. The JV183DZ is equipped with 3 orbital settings plus straight cutting, bayonet type shank, electric brake for increased user safety, tilting base for bevel cuts 45 degrees right or left and positive stop at 90 degrees and a heavy duty aluminium die caste base for increased durability and longer service life. The JV183DZ is fitted with dust cover to minimise scattering of tips, through the body dust port to provide optimal dust management with the use of a Vacuum Cleaner; dust nozzle can be attached for connecting to a Makita Vacuum Cleaner. 18mm length of stroke, 10mm maximum capacity in aluminium, 65mm maximum cutting capacity in wood (90 degrees), 6mm maximum cutting capacity in steel (90 degrees). The JV183DZ is not compatible with the LXT range of batteries and chargers. 1 year manufacturer warranty with a further 2 years when registered within 30 days of purchase.
