Bosch - Wear sensor - 1987474570 As soon as the brake lining has reached its wear limit, the wear indicator gets damaged. This interrupts the electrical circuit and triggers a warning in the dashboard. To ensure reliable wear indication in the future, the wear indicator must be replaced by a new one. They can also be triggered by high ambient temperature in the brake system if the contact melts or if they are installed incorrectly. For example, cables must not rub, as they will be damaged over time. Bosch wear indicators are modeled on the original equipment design in order to ensure outstanding fit, heat resistance and functionality to ensure a right match to the vehicle electronics. They are fail protected due to extra strong cables.
