It all started back in 1740 when Admiral Edward Vernon enforced a reduction in the strength of the British Navy’s rum rations, stating that they had to be diluted with water. When his men complained, Admiral Vernon – affectionately known as ‘Old Grog’ – suggested adding limes and sugar to ensure the rum was appetising and pleasant to taste – and it’s because of this unlikely mixologist that Old J Spiced Rum was born! A contemporary twist on Old Grog’s original concept, Old J combines the finest rum with a special blend of sugar, spices, vanilla and Persian lime. The Old J Spiced Rum collection comprises of seven mouth-watering and delicious flavours, suitable for any taste and any occasion.
