Product Description The Rycote Super-Shield Kit (Large) is a complete windshield and shock mounting system for shotgun microphones between 250mm and 300mm in length. The kit includes a windshield basket with adjustable handle, Rycote Lyre Mount microphone suspension, XLR cable and Windjammer. It is the industry standard when it comes to professional broadcasting. The windshield basket consists of two separate pods, and features a twist lock system onto the suspension chassis ring. When fitted, the pods completely surround the whole microphone, connector and suspension. This system creates a still volume of air around the microphone, which provides excellent wind-noise reduction with minimal high-frequency loss. The microphone suspension uses Rycote patented Lyre Mount technology. The Lyres reduce handling noise with any axial microphones without the use of elastic bands that can sag or need rethreading. The suspension is suitable for use with microphones 19 mm to 25 mm in shaft diameter and can be slotted into any of six positions for perfect balance and fit. It also comes supplied with an 18 inch (450 mm) highly flexible microphone cable and WIndjammer. The Windjammer is a high-quality synthetic fur cover which provides excellent protection against extreme wind noise. In 1969, Rycote introduced the world's first microphone windshield system for location sound and electronic news-gathering (ENG).
