The NORD-LOCK pair of wedge lock washers according to DIN 25 201 is a purely mechanically acting machine element that secures the screw connection by preloading force instead of friction and is therefore superior to conventional screw locks. When the screw or nut is tightened, the radial ribs of the NORD-LOCK locking washers form fit into the counter support. The pair of discs sits firmly in place and movements are only possible between the wedge surfaces. Even at the slightest rotation in the release direction due to the wedge effect, an increase in the preload force - the screw thus secures itself. NORD-LOCK offers reliable screw locking, even under extreme vibrations or dynamic loads. Due to the high hardness of the discs, the use is also possible with high-strength screws up to and including the strength class 12.9.
