These cutters are classic tools that target the interest of professional carpenters and beginners.
Tip: Two milling operations are recommended as long as you mill prongs with a template. Before removing the workpiece from the jig, make sure all prongs are cleanly milled. To increase the life of your prong router bit and achieve clean cuts, you can pre-mill with a groove cutter. Very clean cuts/edges can be achieved when using a chip wood. You can use your prong router bit on a router table with stop to make edges with a special chamfer.
Safety note: never lift your router when working with a prong jig - the cutter may get into the template! If a prong router bit "eats" into the workpiece, check the secure fit of the cutter before continuing to work.
