Description

In 1848, with the rejuvenation of the Jewish settlement in Jerusalem, Yitzhak Galina-Shor opened the first winery in Israel, in a basement adjunct to the Western Wall in Jerusalem. The winery's quality wines gained a reputation within the Jewish community of the time, and were sold door-to-door. During the Turks' riots, the Shor family was forced to abandon the winery in the Old City and rebuild it over a water storage pool in Beit Israel in the new Jerusalem. During the eight generations since its foundation, 1848 Winery continued to grow and gain recognition for its quality wines, repositioned into several locations, but maintained a tradition of wine production as a way of life. 1848 Winery is a pioneer in the Israeli wine industry regarding barrel wine maturation, the first to establish a wine bottles filling line, and leads the industry in labelling quality wines as branded super premium products. 1848 Galina Shor 5th Generation White Wine NV 75 cl Kosher (Case of 3)
