Product Description
Product Description The classic 35mm focal length is ideal as a medium wide-angle portrait lens when you want to retain subject intimacy but include elements of the surroundings. A wide maximum aperture and focusing down to 25cm let you exploit good macro shooting opportunities. Optimised for the latest high-definition D-SLRs, the AF-S NIKKOR 35mm f/1.8G ED lens from Nikon captures compelling images with amazing clarity and contrast. Offering a strong combination of classic focal length and wide aperture, this versatile lens is ideal for street photography and environmental portraiture, as well as broad landscapes. Constructed with the level of precision and reliability you would expect from Nikon, this FX-format prime lens delivers sharp colour-rich images. Lightweight, compact and affordable, the AF-S NIKKOR 35mm f/1.8G ED deserves a place in every discerning photographer’s bag. Striking Images Framing images with an engaging perspective, this medium wide-angle lens beautifully captures any setting or subject, from busy streets to location-based portraits; from landscapes by day to cityscapes by night. Designed to work with high megapixel sensors, this classic 35mm[1] lens is a great option for photographers who want an effortless way to shoot stunning backgrounds without sacrificing subject intimacy. When shooting indoors, or when light conditions deteriorate, the remarkable image quality is maintained, thanks to a wide maximum aperture of f/1.8. The wide aperture also enables sharp separation of a subject from its background, and the brighter viewfinder image makes the very best composition easier to achieve. Optical Brilliance Providing consistently outstanding optical performance, the AF-S NIKKOR 35mm f/1.8G ED comprises eleven elements in eight groups, in a design with one aspherical lens element and one ED glass element. The iris diaphragm has seven rounded blades for a soft rendering effect producing high-quality natural backgrounds. The ED element works together with the aspherical element to eliminate chromatic aberration and ensure high-resolution and superior contrast. Thanks to optical design elements also employed in the professional NIKKOR 35mm f/1.4 lens, point light sources are reproduced with minimal sagittal coma flare, allowing striking images such as nightscapes to be captured. Silent Precision Nikon's AF-S technology is yet another reason why professional photographers like NIKKOR lenses. Nikon’s exclusive Silent Wave Motor (SWM) converts travelling waves into rotational energy to focus the optics. This enables high-speed autofocusing that’s extremely accurate and super quiet. A huge advantage when shooting movies, fast and quiet autofocus means that for discrete shooting you can set up the shot in an instant and camera focusing won’t disturb sensitive subjects like wildlife. The 11 element design comprises 8 groups, and incorporates 1 aspherical lens element and 1 ED lens element for crisp, brilliant images. Switching Focus Combining ease-of-use and maximum precision, the AF-S NIKKOR 35mm f/1.8G ED has two focus modes. In addition to Manual focus, Manual-priority autofocus (M/A) allows you to switch from autofocus to manual operation with virtually no time lag, even during AF servo operation and regardless of the AF mode in use. This gives all the benefits of fast, automatic focusing while still retaining the ability to make fine focus adjustments before taking the shot. Nikon has also included a Rear Focusing (RF) system which divides all the lens elements into specific lens groups so that only the rear lens group moves. This eliminates changes to the physical length of the lens during focusing and enables faster operation. NIKKOR Quality Cleverly crafted in a way that only an optical manufacturer can understand, Nikon creates technologies that make NIKKOR lenses the best choice for any type of still or moving imagery. Omitting the need for an aperture ring, G-type lens aperture is very efficiently controlled electronically through the camera, allowing you to shoot with complete confidence. Adding distinct personality to your images, the AF-S NIKKOR 35mm f/1.8G ED lens from Nikon gives you the freedom to capture diverse scenes in all their brilliance. [1] When fitted to a DX-format D-SLR the actual focal length of 35mm has an angle of view equivalent to that of a 52.5mm lens in 35mm [135] format.
