Chipotle chillies (Capsicum cultivars) hail from Mexico. They are, in fact, smoke dried Jalapenos bursting with flavour and have been heat treated to preserve freshness and their unique flavour.Chipotles are often used to add a subtly smoky taste to Mexican/Spanish food. A delicious Pesto can be made from these peppers with the addition of some red bell peppers, garlic, parmesan cheese and pine nuts. Our chillies are heat treated for highest quality and grade A freshness. They are cut to 3-6mm. They have a Scoville heat unit of 15,000-25,000. Handle with caution!
