Product Description Fenugreek (Trigonella foenum-graecum) is often referred to as 'Greek Hay, as the plant was often used as feed for cattle. ' Also often referred to in Asian cookery as 'methi.' Fenugreek is classified not as only as a herb (the leaves,) and a spice (the seeds) but also as a vegetable. Fenugreek is used extensively in Asian, African and Jewish cuisines. The seeds contain an ester which causes it to smell not unlike maple syrup when cooked and are often used for flavouring artifical versions of it.
