The instrument has a matt finish to simulate Grenadilla-wood resulting in a more rounded graceful sound and better grip. The flute is pitched at standard modern A=440Hz meaning it can be played in ensembles with modern instruments - ideal for new baroque players if specific baroque pitch is not required.
