The Fowler 52-250 series outside micrometer has a Vernier-scale display with a 0.001" resolution, a choice of measuring range, and a disc-style anvil/spindle pair to measure thickness of narrow grooves and difficult or closely spaced areas, such as slots and recesses. Disc micrometers are also used to measure ribs, keys, fins, and cutting edges on forming tools, and the chordal thickness of gear teeth. The Vernier-scale display has a 0.001" resolution and an accuracy of 0.00016" for precise readings and accurate measurements. The zero adjustment on the sleeve ensures accurate measurements.
