In fact, the spinning direction of the motor can also be reversed from clockwise to counterclockwise and vice versa. In summer the air movement creates a pleasant cool breeze whereas in the winter warm air from the ceiling is recirculated efficiently, removing cold spots on the floor in the process. This will help reduce the heating bill during the cold seasons of the year. The white Potkuri model features a pull cord for three speeds and switching the appliance off. If desired, it is possible to use a remote control or wall speed controller instead of the pull chain for more convenience. The fan is suitable for a variety of ceiling constructions, including inclined ceilings and works best in rooms with up to 25m² size. Another benefit is that the drop rod can be left out completely to decrease overall depth in rooms with low ceiling.
