Description

Bora Bora Sand from PreisAquaristik is a very fine white substrate made of calcium and magnesium compounds ideal for saltwater aquariums. The manufacturer recommends a height of 2-3 cm. At this height, detritus can be swirled out with good flow and nitrate accumulation in the substrate is avoided. Also ideal for mixing DSB filter systems; here the substrate should be at least 8-20 cm. Bora Bora Sand is made from a very pure rock material that does not emit nitrate, phosphate or silicate. Bora Bora Sand has a very high proportion of calcium and magnesium and enriches the water with carbonate hardness. After about 1 year run time, you should approx. 10% Bora Bora Sand refill. This is about the amount that goes into solution to calcium, magnesium and carbonate hardness. Soft animals such as anemones, cylinder roses, tube worms, sea feathers and lip fish like to dig into this fine Bora Sand. Peas can chew through this sand very well and dig caves. Bora Bora Sand corresponds to the natural environment in the coral reef and thus makes an important contribution to a well-functioning biotope. How much sand do I need for my aquarium? Example: aquarium 150 cm length 50 cm depth 60 cm height desired height substrate 2 cm invoice: 150 x 50 x 2 length x depth x desired height = 15 L = litres; 1 pack Bora Bora Sand corresponds to 3 kg 1.9 litres, 8 kg 5 litres and 25 kg 15.5 litres. Rinse Bora Sand well with tap water before use - the water starts to turn milky / white as long as rinse until the water is largely clear.
